What Is Examplify ExamMonitor?

ExamMonitor is ExamSoft’s AI-powered remote proctoring tool that integrates with Examplify. When your school enables ExamMonitor for an exam, the application will:

• Request permission to access your webcam and microphone before the exam starts
• Record your face via webcam continuously throughout the exam
• Record ambient audio in your exam environment
• Record your screen activity throughout the exam
• Use AI behavioral analytics to identify potentially suspicious behaviors
• Generate a flagged report for your school’s ExamSoft administrator to review after the exam

What Does ExamMonitor’s AI Flag?

• Eyes consistently leaving the screen area (gaze detection)
• Face leaving the webcam frame for extended periods
• Multiple faces detected in the webcam view
• Voices or sounds that suggest another person is present
• Whispering or lip movements suggesting communication
• Sudden movements or looking away repeatedly
• Very long pauses on individual questions

What ExamMonitor CANNOT Detect

• ❌ A phone or tablet outside the webcam’s field of view
• ❌ Text messages or communication on a separate device
• ❌ Activity on a second computer not connected to the exam device
• ❌ Bluetooth earpieces not connected to the exam computer
• ❌ What is happening in areas of the room the webcam cannot see

Is ExamMonitor Always Active on Examplify?

No. ExamMonitor must be enabled by your school for each specific exam. Before your exam begins, Examplify will clearly display whether ExamMonitor is active — you will see a specific ExamMonitor notification and be asked to grant camera and microphone permissions. If no such notification appears, ExamMonitor is not enabled for that exam.
